CCTV Operator / Tap Cutter – Lead Advanced Pipe Inspection and Lateral Reinstatements for Cobra Environmental Inc

The Opportunity

You will serve as a key field leader running high-tech inspection and robotic cutting equipment for CIPP lining operations. You will directly protect project quality by delivering accurate defect coding and precise lateral reinstatements. How You Will Make an Impact

  • Lead mainline CCTV crawler operations to inspect sewer and storm pipes ranging from 6" to 96"+.
  • Calibrate camera systems, lighting, and footage counters to ensure accurate orientation and measurements.
  • Perform detailed pre-lining and post-lining inspections, accurately documenting all pipe conditions and service connections.
  • Operate robotic tap cutters to cleanly and safely reinstate service laterals through cured CIPP liners.
  • Generate deliverable inspection reports by coding pipe observations to strict NASSCO standards.
  • Coordinate field efforts with cleaning and lining crews to align reinstatement targets perfectly.
  • Maintain camera trucks, robotic cutter heads, cables, and tractor equipment in peak operational condition.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of CCTV inspection experience in sanitary or storm sewer systems.
  • Proven leadership qualities with the ability to guide field operations and support crew members.
  • Practical working knowledge of operating robotic tap cutters through CIPP liners.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting cameras, tractors, cables, and cutter heads.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and work comfortably in confined spaces.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Active NASSCO PACP, MACP, and LACP certifications.
  • Valid CDL Class B driver's license.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection software such as WinCan, Granite XP, or ITpipes.
  • Active OSHA 10/30, Confined Space Entry, or MOT/TTC certifications.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
