Job Overview
Coastal Quality Construction, Inc. (CQC) is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to join our growing commercial construction team in Parma, Ohio. This role is responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through closeout, while also preparing accurate and competitive estimates that drive successful project execution. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for a self-starter who can read plans, manage financials, and do what it takes to get the job done.
You will play a key role in supporting field operations, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to CQC’s quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Manage projects from pre-construction through final closeout.
- Process RFIs, including routing and logging in Foundation Software.
- Process submittals, including review for project requirements, logging, and submission to architects.
- Support field operations by ordering materials and ensuring timely delivery.
- Process, price, and manage change orders.
- Serve as the overall financial manager for assigned projects.
- Establish, monitor, and update project schedules.
- Manage contract processing and procurement activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams including accounting, HR, and operations.
- Oversee all project closeout activities to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Estimating
- Manage the full pre-construction process from concept through buyout.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates using takeoffs, subcontractor input, and historical cost data.
- Produce accurate hard bid estimates for both public and private sector projects.
- Establish bidder lists and create RFP solicitations for vendors and subcontractors.
- Develop detailed scopes of work for subcontractors.
- Perform scope reviews and bid leveling with subcontractors.
- Submit bids to owners and developers.
- Collaborate with architects to ensure designs align with owner budgets on Design-Build projects.
- Support business development efforts alongside the President to drive continued company growth.
- Transition pre-construction information, budgets, and contracts to operations and field teams.
- Maintain organized estimating documentation and records throughout the bid process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and estimating with a General Contractor, Construction Manager, or Design-Build firm.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and bidding documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff software preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to take ownership and follow projects through completion.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
