The Opportunity
Are you the electrician other guys call when they can’t figure out a problem?
At Barden Electric Inc., we aren’t just looking for someone to run conduit all day; we need a Master Troubleshooter and Field Leader who can interact with Customers.
As our Service Foreman, you will be the go-to technical investigator, diagnosing complex electrical mysteries, tracing faults, assessing motor control and engineering real-time resolutions on the fly. This role gives you the autonomy to solve critical technical challenges while mentoring the next generation of diagnostic specialists, all backed by an established, growth-focused company.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Investigate & Diagnose: Lead the hands-on troubleshooting and systematic investigation of complex commercial electrical failures, control systems, and power quality issues.
- Effective Documentation: clearly communicate findings by completing T&M/Service Tickets with detailed accurate information that is easily interpreted by others.
- Resolve & Execute: Identify root causes and implement efficient, code-compliant (NEC/CEC) resolutions for diverse service requests and T&M projects.
- Lead & Mentor: Supervise field crews, instilling a methodical, analytical approach to troubleshooting and safety in junior team members.
- Effective Field Operations: Respond to daily service dispatch, maintain strict project timelines, and ensure accurate field documentation of T&M tickets.
- Client Relations: Act as the primary technical expert on-site, clearly communicating findings and resolution paths to clients and management.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- The Diagnostic Mindset: Deep, demonstrable knowledge of electrical infrastructure troubleshooting, circuit investigation, and fault-finding.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Service Foreman, specifically within commercial, industrial, and residential environments.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead service crews when needed and independently resolve high-stakes technical problems with minimal oversight.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex control schematics, detailed project drawings, and technical specifications.
- Physical & Logistics: Ability to lift/move materials up to 50 lbs. and a valid CA driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent technical training.
- Advanced experience diagnosing commercial HVAC controls, Motor Control systems, or specialized electrical systems.
- A passion for mentorship and training junior technicians in the art of electrical investigation.
