Job Overview

Lakeside Renovation & Design is seeking a detail-oriented Window & Door Final Measure & Service Technician to join our growing residential remodeling team. This critical role ensures every replacement window and door project is measured accurately before ordering, minimizing installation issues and delivering an exceptional customer experience.


In addition to performing final measurements, you'll diagnose and complete warranty and service work while acting as the technical liaison between our sales team, installation crews, manufacturers, and homeowners. Key Responsibilities

  • Final Measurement Responsibilities
  • Perform precise final measurements for replacement windows and exterior doors before ordering
  • Verify product sizes, styles, swing direction, hardware selections, colors, grids, and specialty options
  • Inspect existing openings for structural concerns, water damage, installation challenges, and code-related issues
  • Identify installation obstacles including:
  • Brickmold
  • Interior trim
  • Siding
  • Masonry
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • HVAC
  • Confirm homeowner selections and installation expectations
  • Photograph existing jobsite conditions for project documentation
  • Prepare accurate ordering information for purchasing
  • Communicate measurement discrepancies with the sales team before materials are ordered
  • Recommend installation methods and required materials
  • Service & Warranty Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and complete residential window and door warranty repairs
  • Adjust windows and doors for proper operation
  • Replace balances, hardware, locks, rollers, weatherstripping, screens, insulated glass units, and other components
  • Troubleshoot water infiltration and air leakage issues
  • Perform manufacturer-approved warranty repairs
  • Document service work with detailed notes and photos
  • Maintain replacement parts inventory and organize the service vehicle


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in residential window and door installation, finish carpentry, service work, or related construction experience
  • Strong understanding of residential construction practices
  • Ability to accurately measure replacement windows and exterior doors
  • Experience diagnosing installation and warranty issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to safely lift materials and work on ladders when necessary
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and project management software for documentation


Preferred Qualifications

  • Window and door installation experience
  • Finish carpentry experience
  • Manufacturer warranty repair experience
  • Knowledge of building codes and flashing methods
  • Lead-Safe Certification

Schedule

  • Full-Time | Monday–Friday
  • Daytime hours with occasional flexibility based on project schedules.


Work Location

  • Daily travel to residential projects throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. Company vehicle is provided and picked up and returned each day at our warehouse in Chesterfield, MO.
